Veien is the recording name of visual artist and flute player Viktor Pedersen. Using woodwind instruments, field recordings, and electronic processing, Veien seeks to channel the wonders of inner and outer nature.

Viktor Pedersen works interdisciplinary with performance, text, sculpture, video, sound and music. In my artistic practice, I try to approach non-human intelligence to investigate how humans relate to nature. A recurring element in my art is that I work with narratives. I use an animistic view where I personify other organisms, or take on roles as hybrid beings. These perspectives can be an alien that comes from another dimension, a fungus that uses me as a medium, or the diversity of bacteria in the body. By trying to approach these perspectives, I want to play with the west's human-centric picture of reality.

Veien er innspillingsnavnet til billedkunstner og fløyte spiller Viktor Pedersen. Ved hjelp av treblåsinstrumenter, feltopptak og elektronisk prosessering søker Veien å kanalisere naturens indre så vell som ytre underverker.
Viktor Pedersen jobber tverrfaglig med performance, tekst, skulptur, video, lyd og musikk. I hans kunstneriske praksis ønsker han å nærme seg ikke-menneskelig intelligens for å undersøke hvordan mennesker forholder seg til naturen. Et gjentagende element i kunsten hans er å jobbe med fortellinger. Han bruker et animistisk syn der han personifiserer andre organismer, eller tar på seg roller som hybridvesener. Disse perspektivene kan være et romvesen som kommer fra en annen dimensjon, en sopp som bruker han som medium, eller mangfoldet av bakterier i kroppen.

Ved å prøve å nærme seg disse perspektivene, vil an leke med vestens menneske sentrerte virkelighetsbilde.
